Amber is the primary soft currency of Primal Idle. It is earned by selling gathered and crafted items, and spent on permanent upgrades and supplies.

Earning Amber

[edit | edit source]
  • Selling items — any item in your Bank can be sold to the vendor for its sell value (Amber earned = sell value × quantity, before permanent Amber-gain bonuses such as the Homestead's Ancestral Monument raise the per-unit price further). This is the main, steady source of income.
  • Activities — some world content (Expeditions, Dispatch, Contracts) pays out Amber or Amber-valued rewards.

Spending Amber

[edit | edit source]
  • Shop — permanent upgrades (bank space, speed and yield boosts) and restockable supplies (food, tonics) are bought with Amber.
  • Buying an item back from the vendor costs its sell value, so sell deliberately.

Other currencies

[edit | edit source]

Amber is the everyday currency, but the game also uses specialised marks and tokens earned from specific systems — for example Fang Marks from Contracts. Those are covered on their own systems' pages.
