Equipment

From Primal Idle Wiki

Equipment is the gear your survivor wears into battle: weapons, armour, shields and trinkets. Equipping better gear raises your attack and defense, which decide how well you fare in Hunting and on Expeditions. This page covers the player's own equipment; for creature gear see Dino Gear, and for full drop-only Sets see the Sets page.

Equipment slots

[edit | edit source]

You have six equipment slots, and each holds one item at a time:

Slot Typical stat Notes
Weapon Attack Your main source of damage
Head Defense Helms and hoods
Chest Defense Tunics, vests and plate
Legs Defense Leggings and greaves
Shield Defense Shields and aegises
Trinket Attack + Defense Charms, talismans and pendants that give a little of both

How stats work

[edit | edit source]
  • Attack comes mainly from your weapon (and a little from trinkets). Higher attack means you win Hunting fights and Expedition runs faster and against tougher foes.
  • Defense comes from the four armour slots — head, chest, legs, shield — plus trinkets. Higher defense means you take less punishment and survive harder content.
  • Your total attack and defense are the sum of every equipped piece. A balanced loadout fills all six slots rather than stacking a single stat.
  • Wearing a complete biome Set adds a flat bonus on top of the individual pieces — see Sets.
  • Combat consumables stack with gear: Food heals you mid-fight and Tonics such as Berserker Brew (+attack) or Stoneskin Elixir (+defense) give temporary boosts.

Where equipment comes from

[edit | edit source]
  • Crafting — early wood, bone and hide gear.
  • Smithing — the metal tiers, from bronze through obsidian.
  • Cave delves — eight unique best-in-slot pieces, each a rare drop from one specific cave (see the Unique gear table below).
  • Expeditions — drop-only biome Sets and the endgame Primal set.
  • The Shop — the Ancient Amber Pendant, sold only by the Amber Exchange.
