The Homestead is your home base: a collection of structures you build and upgrade level by level. Each structure grants a passive benefit that grows with its level, from extra Bank slots to passive resource production, faster Skills, and more stable stalls for your Creatures. Structures are built and upgraded by spending gathered and crafted Items such as logs, fiber, stone, hides and ingots.
How structures work
[edit | edit source]- Every structure has its own level, raised one level at a time by paying its current upgrade cost.
- Costs rise steadily as a structure levels: within a material tier each level costs ×1.15 the previous (rounded, minimum 1 of each material), and the materials step up to a pricier set at fixed level breakpoints. Exact per-tier costs are in Build costs below.
- Each structure has a maximum level. Buff structures reach as high as 99; passive producers cap at 50; the house chain caps at 25 (24 for the Iron Keep).
- A few structures are gated: they cannot be started until an earlier structure reaches its maximum level (see the house chain below).
Structures
[edit | edit source]| Structure | Max level | Effect per level | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Farmland | 8 | +1 farm plot | Clears one more Farming plot per level (2 plots at level 0, up to 10 at level 8). |
| Storage Hut | 99 | +1 bank slot | Adds one Bank slot per level. |
| Crop Plot | 50 | +1 Crimson Berry / min | Passively grows 1 Crimson Berry per minute per level. |
| Feeding Trough | 99 | −1% Taming cost | Trims Taming food and tonic costs by 1% per level (max 50%). |
| Forge | 99 | +0.5% Smithing speed | Speeds up Smithing by 0.5% per level (max 50%). |
| Grand Stable | 99 | +0.3 stall | Adds a stable stall roughly every 3 levels (for housing tamed Creatures). |
| Thatch Hut | 25 | +2 max HP | The first house. Adds 2 max HP per level. |
| Timber Lodge | 25 | +3 max HP | Adds 3 max HP per level. Requires Thatch Hut 25. |
| Stone House | 25 | +0.2 HP / regen tick | Adds 1 HP per regen tick every 5 levels. Requires Timber Lodge 25. |
| Iron Keep | 24 | +5 max HP | Adds 5 max HP per level. Requires Stone House 25. |
| Tannery | 50 | +1 Hide / 6 min | Passively cures 1 Hide every 6 minutes per level. |
| Apiary | 50 | +1 Wild Honey / ~17 min | Passively gathers 1 Wild Honey roughly every 17 minutes per level. |
| Fishery Dock | 50 | +1 Minnow / 90 s | Nets 1 Minnow every 90 seconds per level. |
| Quarry | 50 | +1 Stone / 90 s | Works 1 Stone every 90 seconds per level. |
| Watchtower | 99 | +1 expedition strength | Adds +1 to expedition strength per level, improving Dispatch and expedition outcomes. |
| Ancestral Monument | 10 | +1% Amber per sale | The first Amber-priced structure (unlocks at your first skill 99); each level raises the value of everything you sell. See Ancestral Monument. |
Most structures are paid for in materials; the Ancestral Monument is the exception, bought with Amber as a late-game sink. Several producers were retuned in the Great Rebalance so their payback lands in a fair band (the Tannery sped up, the Apiary slowed, and the Grand Stable now grants more stalls per level).
Build costs
[edit | edit source]Each level's cost is its tier's base × 1.15(levels into the tier), rounded (minimum 1 of each material). Below, each entry lists the base cost at the first level of each tier — so "L16: 12 Ginkgo Log" means level 16 costs 12 Ginkgo Log, level 17 costs ~14, level 18 ~16, and so on until the next breakpoint. (For example, Storage Hut level 10 = round(8 × 1.159) ≈ 28 Fernwood.)
House chain
[edit | edit source]Two tiers each; the second starts at level 14 (Iron Keep at level 13).
| Structure | Max | From L1 | From L14 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thatch Hut | 25 | Fernwood ×10 + Plains Fiber ×6 | Cycad Log ×14 + Twine Rope ×3 |
| Timber Lodge | 25 | Ginkgo Log ×14 + Twine Rope ×4 | Araucaria Log ×16 + Hide ×8 |
| Stone House | 25 | Stone ×30 + Clay ×12 | Stone ×60 + Bronze Ingot ×4 |
| Iron Keep | 24 | Iron Ingot ×8 + Stone ×60 + Coal ×12 | Obsidian ×10 + Crystal ×4 + Moonstone ×2 (from L13) |
Buff structures (to level 99)
[edit | edit source]Seven tiers, stepping up at levels 16 / 31 / 46 / 61 / 76 / 89. Since v0.37.8 the wood a tier asks for is always harder than the tier before it — Storage Hut, Feeding Trough, Grand Stable, and Watchtower each had a pair of tiers the wrong way round (asking for the harder log first, then dropping back) before that fix.
| Structure | From L1 | From L16 | From L31 | From L46 | From L61 | From L76 | From L89 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Storage Hut | Fernwood ×8 + Twine Rope ×1 | Ginkgo Log ×12 + Fiber Basket ×2 | Redwood Log ×14 + Redwood Pack Frame ×1 | Frostpine Log ×21 + Iron Ingot ×4 | Ironbark Log ×33 + Obsidian ×18 | Moonstone ×12 + Glow Moss ×24 | Moonstone ×24 + Echo Shard ×18 |
| Feeding Trough | Fernwood ×6 + Stone ×5 | Cycad Log ×10 + Hide ×4 | Ginkgo Log ×12 + Hide ×8 | Mangrove Log ×27 + Bronze Ingot ×4 | Redwood Log ×6 + Iron Ingot ×5 | Obsidian ×8 + Wild Honey ×10 | Moonstone ×5 + Glow Moss ×10 |
| Forge | Stone ×12 + Stone Blade ×1 | Stone ×25 + Bronze Ingot ×3 | Stone ×40 + Iron Ingot ×4 | Coal ×20 + Iron Ingot ×8 | Obsidian ×10 + Coal ×30 | Obsidian ×16 + Crystal ×6 | Moonstone ×6 + Echo Shard ×5 |
| Grand Stable | Fernwood ×12 + Twine Rope ×2 + Hide ×2 | Ginkgo Log ×14 + Twine Rope ×5 + Hide ×5 | Redwood Log ×12 + Redwood Pack Frame ×1 + Hide ×8 | Frostpine Log ×18 + Iron Ingot ×5 | Ironbark Log ×29 + Obsidian ×24 | Moonstone ×12 + Hide ×75 | Moonstone ×21 + Echo Shard ×18 |

Passive producers (to level 50)
[edit | edit source]Four tiers, stepping up at levels 16 / 31 / 41.
| Structure | From L1 | From L16 | From L31 | From L41 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Crop Plot | Plains Fiber ×13 + Fernwood ×6 | Plains Fiber ×32 + Ginkgo Log ×18 | Araucaria Log ×12 + Clay ×10 | Redwood Log ×14 + Glow Moss ×4 |
| Tannery | Cycad Log ×10 + Bone ×5 | Ginkgo Log ×14 + Hide ×10 | Mangrove Log ×14 + Iron Ingot ×3 | Ironbark Log ×14 + Obsidian ×5 |
| Apiary | Fernwood ×12 + Wild Honey ×2 | Cycad Log ×14 + Wild Honey ×6 | Ginkgo Log ×16 + Fiber Basket ×2 | Redwood Log ×14 + Glow Moss ×4 |
| Fishery Dock | Fernwood ×8 + Twine Rope ×3 | Mangrove Log ×12 + Twine Rope ×6 | Redwood Log ×12 + Redwood Pack Frame ×1 | Frostpine Log ×12 + Cave Pearl ×3 |
| Quarry | Fernwood ×8 + Stone Blade ×1 | Cycad Log ×12 + Bronze Ingot ×2 | Araucaria Log ×12 + Iron Ingot ×4 | Ironbark Log ×12 + Obsidian ×4 |
Farmland
[edit | edit source]Five tiers, stepping up at levels 3 / 5 / 7 / 8. At its full 8 levels Farmland clears 10 Farming plots (2 base + 8); the last two tiers gate plots 9–10 behind Moonstone and Echo Shard.
| Structure | Max | From L1 | From L3 | From L5 | From L7 | From L8 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Farmland | 8 | Fernwood ×10 + Plains Fiber ×8 | Ginkgo Log ×20 + Stone ×18 | Redwood Log ×24 + Iron Ingot ×8 | Moonstone ×5 + Frostpine Log ×18 | Moonstone ×8 + Echo Shard ×6 |
Passive producers
[edit | edit source]Several structures generate Items on their own, even while you are busy with another skill or offline. Higher levels stack the output rate.
| Structure | Produces | Rate at level 1 | Max level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crop Plot | Crimson Berry | 1 per minute | 50 |
| Fishery Dock | Minnow | 1 per 90 s | 50 |
| Quarry | Stone | 1 per 90 s | 50 |
| Apiary | Wild Honey | 1 per ~17 min | 50 |
| Tannery | Hide | 1 per 6 min | 50 |
The house chain
[edit | edit source]The four house structures form a linear upgrade path. Each must be fully built before the next can begin, and together they steadily raise your max HP and health regeneration:
- Thatch Hut (levels 1–25, +2 max HP each) → unlocks
- Timber Lodge (levels 1–25, +3 max HP each) → unlocks
- Stone House (levels 1–25, +1 HP per regen tick every 5 levels) → unlocks
- Iron Keep (levels 1–24, +5 max HP each)
Building the houses also invites Villagers to move in once housing reaches the required levels, each delivering periodic gift baskets.
