== How structures work == * Every structure has its own level, raised one level at a time by paying its current upgrade cost. * Costs rise steadily as a structure levels: within a material tier each level costs '''×1.15''' the previous (rounded, minimum 1 of each material), and the materials '''step up''' to a pricier set at fixed level breakpoints. Exact per-tier costs are in [[#Build costs|Build costs]] below. * Each structure has a maximum level. Buff structures reach as high as 99; passive producers cap at 50; the house chain caps at 25 (24 for the Iron Keep). * A few structures are '''gated''': they cannot be started until an earlier structure reaches its maximum level (see the [[#The house chain|house chain]] below).
