Contracts are timed tasks issued by the Contract Board. Completing them pays out Fang Marks, a currency you spend at the Mark Exchange. The Contract Board unlocks at Hunting level 10.
How contracts work
- The Contract Board deals a small hand of contracts, refreshing on a rotation every 12 hours.
- You can hold and complete up to three claims per rotation — the board itself is the real limit on how many Marks you earn.
- Only contracts you are eligible for appear: each may require a certain skill level, or that a particular biome is unlocked, so undoable tasks stay off the board.
- If the offered contracts don't suit you, a reroll deals a fresh set.
- Each contract has a completion condition — hunt a number of a specific creature, perform a number of gathers or crafts in a skill, win a number of expeditions, complete delves, harvests, tames, or trades.
- Fang Marks pay out at roughly 1 Mark per 2 minutes of directed play.
Contract types
- Culls — hunt a set number of a named creature (for example 25 Compsognathus). Higher-level culls target tougher prey in specific biomes for more Marks.
- Supply orders — complete a number of actions in a gathering or production skill (Foraging, Logging, Mining, Fishing, Cooking, Crafting, Smithing, Alchemy).
- Patrol bounties — win a number of expeditions, sometimes pinned to a specific biome or to weather (rain or snowfall).
- Other writs — winning delves, harvesting crops, taming creatures, or moving goods at the Trading Post.
Contract rewards scale from 3 Marks for the simplest tasks up to 15 Marks for the toughest endgame culls and patrols.
The Mark Exchange
Fang Marks are spent at the Mark Exchange on gear and supplies:
